Now that Thanksgiving is over, I feel that we have officially begun the “holiday season”. I am preparing to decorate my office with tinsel and glitter, and one of my colleagues is excitedly discussing holiday sweater vest options. With potlucks, luncheons, parties, and decorating in the office, some might think it is easy to forget the importance of giving during the holidays. But that is certainly not the case at Des Moines University!
Des Moines University is very involved with community outreach throughout the year. From on-campus events (such as the Senior Health Fair and OMM Community Night) to working events in the city (we were at the Iowa State Fair this past summer, and this fall students assisted runners after the Des Moines Marathon), DMU is involved. However, it is during the holidays when this is most apparent. Students, faculty, and staff can adopt a senior citizen, purchase winter boots for elementary students, provide gifts for mothers and children, and make donations to the local food bank. Not only do we work to improve the health of the community, we also work to meet the basic needs of individuals during the holiday season. It is wonderful to see so many opportunities to give here at DMU!

If is possible add the CresceNet(www.provedorcrescenet.com) in your blogroll, I thank. Good bye friend.
